Is the Fucoidan used in your SIRT6Activator a low molecular weight?
The fucoidan in Sirt6Activator™ is a carefully standardised, medium molecular weight extract, with a typical molecular weight around 53 kDa (53,000 Da).
This is intentional:
- Very large fucoidans (>300 kDa) can have reduced absorption
- Very small fucoidans (<10 kDa) may lose some of their structural features and biological activity.
Research suggests that fucoidan in the mid-range (30–100 kDa) strikes the right balance between:
- Potency – maintaining the complex sulfated structure that supports healthy SIRT6 activation and immune function
- Bioavailability – small enough to be absorbed efficiently by the gut
When we say “optimised bioavailability”, this is what we mean; Selecting a molecular weight range that preserves fucoidan’s natural activity while supporting its uptake by the body.
